O From the Future

You’ll never understand time travel.

An absurd and theatrical re-telling of the short story, O From the Future by T.A. Stanley.

The story is excerpted from Stanley's

collection of flash fiction, Pulling Weeds, that addresses the violences and violations that one absorbs as a woman, the ways in which these experiences live in the body and mind, and how one attempts to move through and heal after trauma.

Set in a world made of paper, the characters manipulate this material just as they do each other, only their motives differ.

Premiere: The Bunker NYC at Livestream Public, Brooklyn, 2015.

Other showings:

"It's mesmerizing. O From the Future stands out because, in a dance theater field littered with work that forgoes the dancing, AnA focuses on choreography in equal measure to theatricality."
